An interesting week for gaming consoles, as the much anticipated Super Mario Sunshine and the PS2 Online Service (with SOCOM and TM:B Online!) are released. Mario is getting some expected good reviews, but the general concensus is that it’s not as ground-breaking nor as great as it could have been. Maybe the expectations were too grand, as Mario has some massive shoes to fill, but if it’s at the least an enjoyable game, then that’s more than enough to hold over until the insane pre-Christmas rush. Besides, the GameCube is in dire need of such high profile (and, unquestionably, high-selling) titles.
I posted this on Metafilter earlier today, but it’s just too good to not re-post here: The Happy Tree Friends.
