This is something that I definitely want to see more of: rRootage, an independent, nicely executed game concept that takes the core elements of a shooter to their most minimalist, abstract form. There’s no story or theme or any realistic representation of anything: just a “ship”, a seemingly auto-generated “boss”, and a mercilessly unforgiving torrent of “bullets”. So many bullets that, as with most shmups, it’s more about “bullet avoidance” than it is about any actual “shooting.” Additionally, if your anticipation for Ikaruga is reaching a boiling point (it is for me), rRootage offers an IKA mode that might hold you over for a bit.
