Free Play is Good Play

Remember rRootage? If that interested you, then check out the aptly named Warning Forever. In it, you face a never-ending onslaught of “bosses”. Each one’s arrival signaled to you through a shmup cliched warning. Good stuff.

Similarily, there’s Bullet Philharmonic Orchestra — which is nothing more than a glorified bullet dodger. The interesting thing about it is that you specify the music for the game to play, and the bullet patterns are generated based on that music. Think of it as a cross between a Winamp visualizer and shooter, minus the shooting. It’s based on the rRootage creator’s BulletML; definitely one of the most unique XML applications around.
