Quatchi’s Shootout Shutout

Quatchi's Shootout Shutout

One of the things that has kept me super busy over the last month has just launched: Quatchi’s Shootout Shutout. A small flash game for the Vancouver 2010 Olympics’ “Meet the Mascots” page. I’ve liked the Meomi designed characters ever since they were revealed last winter, so it was a joy and privilege to be able to work with them.

The game was produced by zinc Roe Design, who recently launched their own weblog. All Flash coding by me. PS. try to break 3000 points.

Very well done. I was briefly thwarted by the fact that the 1/2/3 doesn’t work from the numeric keypad, however. It’s probably not a significant deficiency since that is a far less comfortable hand position. I doubt many players will attempt it.

Yeah. Various different input schemes were considered for this but we settled on what was, if not easiest to play, the easiest to represent in the UI to the user.

Good work! I love the mascots (Well, er, specifically Miga and Quatchi) and me and the girlfriend own their plushes. They’re awesome.
