Playstation Home, Theatre

I just want to clarify my hate-on for Playstation Home. Yes, it’s great that it’s free and this is something new for a console and yadda yadda, but this is a system for dealing with people that I don’t want to deal with.

The theatre was the last place I saw. I walked in there, took a seat in the straight in middle in the center row and waited for the “film” to start. The screen had a big, fat loading bar on it. Around me were all sorts of people standing around, conversing, dancing and blowing bubbles. Someone had a microphone or something because some clips from a soundboard were being played. I couldn’t tell what they were because they were overly loud and distorted. Someone else was attempting to talk but it was failing too. Another person called someone a “noob;” another one, “fag.” The film was still loading. I had to lower the volume on voice speech because the one guy was getting irritating.

The video finally loaded and it was nothing but a lousy trailer for a shitty movie that I could have seen on Apple’s trailer site anyway: in far less time; in a higher resolution; without people screaming; without people obstructing the view. If I had paid for a ticket in such a theatre, I’d have asked for my money back.
