Not Much Going On
The old abandoned radar site. It has its stories.
The old abandoned radar site. It has its stories. The night sky is quite pleasant today. The full moon is very bright, and is as it was for van Gogh 114 years ago; and Mars, itself, is very bright and prominent in the sky and is interesting in its own right.
Inspired by this, I decided to write the Moon. Literally. Using four 2-second exposure shots, I wrote “Moon” using… the moon:
Staying with the celestial theme, Canada has recently launched its first orbital space telescope: MOST.
A sad thing it is. In the last four months, I have barely even touched my camera. All I have to show for that period of time is some blurry pictures of Buffalo, some shots of various content on my tv, and some driving shots during a really foggy night.

I paid good money for this damned thing, and I feel guilty for not using it. I need some sort of shutter-bug motivation. A subject. A scene. Anything really, just as long as I take some more damned photos.

Now that I have my camera back, ventures into the rural wilds of Southern Ontario don’t seem quite as pointless.

I took my camera in for repairs yesterday. It was a small speck that kept showing up on my pictures that did it for me. Nothing serious, I hope, but nothing that an extended warranty wasn’t meant to cover. Good thing that I had a warranty, as I generally avoid getting one — but when I do, I better make damned sure that I make the most of it.
In the abscence of my beloved Fuji, I’m forced to resort to my lo-fi, grainy, toy Cubik. In celebration of it’s lack of quality, I created a gallery on alt.sense.

It’s been a long while since I took a quiet, rural drive and got some fresh air. Being up there in the vast open outdoors, I realized that I have never sat down and just watched the sun rise. I think I found the perfect place, just a bit north of the city, to do that. Hopefully, sometime soon, I’ll be able to find the time to spare for it.

Yes, it’s rather small… but it does take (low-fi) megapixel shots (1280res), it does take (limited) video, and it can be used as a (mini) web-cam. All in a package that fits nicely into a shirt pocket!
