Dawn of a Collection

I’ve been meaning to start building a DVD Collection for about a year now. I just never got around to it. There have been many reasons for it, but it mostly boils down to three key ones. Firstly, I’m cheap and lazy. Secondly, I’ve always wanted to start my collection with a key, all-time favourite movie that I would be proud of. It’s some sort of self-satisfying ego, or something. A lot of those key titles tend to be available…

work makes me go something-something

I find myself wanting to spend less and less time near a computer. Once I get home from work, I try to avoid it for the rest of the day. Sure, I’m using the PS2 as a substitute — which isn’t that much different — but the focus with a PS2 is completely non work related. I’m sick of sitting in front of the computer working on whatever, whenever there even isn’t anything to work on, just because I have…

WHATYOUGET

I got Medal of Honor: Frontline on Friday (I thought it was supposed to come out on D-Day?) and that’s been taking up my whole weekend. It’s a good shooter and I’ll try to write something about it when I finish it. Rest and relaxation is good. With work, E3, and the whole travelling to LA thing, I’ve been relatively tired lately. With that, I did absolutely nothing during the weekend to compensate. Granted, that isn’t much different than what…

A few E3 links

Using booth-babes to sell video games is lame (warning: automatic browser resize). Very lame. Tecmo was the most blatant. IGN’s best of E3 for PS2, GameCube, and XBox. I don’t particularly agree with their picks, though I will give them full support for the ‘best PS2 first-person shooter’ category. TimeSplitters 2 was, in my opinion, one of the best “quiet” games on show. GameSpot has also released their Best of E3 list. I tend to agree with this one more…

E3: SEGA Breakdown

I must confess: in my younger, less game-savvy days, I had a strong bias against everything Sega. All I had was my Super Nintendo (and NES). I couldn’t afford a Genesis, and my parents sure as hell weren’t going to fork over a few hundred bucks for another console, so I only had the one option. As anyone in such a limited situation would do, I defended my choice to the bitter end. I am a reformed fanboy. As I…

E3: Nintendo Breakdown

Nintendo’s exhibit was my first stop at E3. It was also the largest, and most elaborate set-up there. As it would be, that grandeur would tarnish all my future booth visits — no one else compared, and I was disappointed to find that out, as my expectations started from such a high point. Regardless, no matter how outlandish your display is, if you don’t have the games to back it up, no one will care. Nintendo definitely had the games…

Back to the T Dot

I have made my triumphant return from E3 in LA, to the colder reality of Toronto. The blisters on my feet tell me that I saw a lot of the show, and, most definitely, I shall write up some reports or point form notes or something. All I had in my — rather nice — Super 8 room was a modem connection. Unfortunately, I had no service to connect with, and, as such, had no Internet access for the whole…

California dreaming…

Over the next week, updates will be completely dependent on my ability to find internet access in Los Angeles. Hopefully, I’ll have some nice E3 exclusives — or, at the very least, a bunch of blurry, non-descript photos of some half-finished video games. Exciting!!

The-inbetween.com year three

Testing, testing… 1,2,3. Anybody out there? This new, movabletype powered format is different… yet, similar. It isn’t quite there yet — as I need to throw in some scripting, (php and javascript), and some other useless self-serving features; and, most importantly, I still have to fine tune it for all those shitty browsers. However, if you are using IE6 or Mozilla 0.9.8 or later (I need to upgrade) on a PC… then it will essentially stay as it is. I…
